We love our trucks, buses and coaches here at DH Price and we want to make sure that not only your vehicles are roadworthy, but that you have all the relevant documentation to show that you care for your vehicles just as much as we do.

Planned scheduled maintenance is an important part of record keeping for DVSA (formerly VOSA)  when it comes to roadside checks and MOT’s. As a professional commercial operator, new or established, whether you run one HGV, bus*, coach*, trailer or a fleet of vehicles of varying descriptions, you have a responsibility to ensure that all your vehicles comply with guidelines and that you can demonstrate best practice in your management of your fleet maintenance. You also have a responsibility to recognise that your drivers and other staff involved in the use of your vehicles must also be aware of their responsibilities as part of the business.

*includes double deck and low floor as well as single deck buses and coaches.

Having planned maintenance is cost effective – early indication of wear may prevent sudden failure of the component, resulting in unexpected downtime.

We can work with you to draw up a schedule to best organise and identify the best opportunities for maintaining your fleet so that downtime on each vehicle is kept to a minimum, keep your records up to date and advise you on the latest legislation and guidelines from VOSA.

We offer an initial consultation, free of charge, to discuss your key requirements and work out a cycle of scheduled safety inspections and maintenance, pre-inspection MOT and the MOT itself. We also offer advice on the legal responsibilities that your drivers (and admin staff involved with vehicle record keeping) will have, such as driving hours, recording walk around checks and the consequences of failing to report defects. We can also carry out basic training for drivers to enable them to carry out basic repairs in service like changing a light bulb, in order to keep the vehicle safe whilst being driven on the road.

Our ATF (Authorised Test Facility) is state of the art and fully equipped to enable us to work on trailers, buses, coaches and HGV vehicles and all our technicians are trained to the highest standards in all aspects of commercial and PSV engineering and electrical work.

We are dedicated to training and we ensure they are also kept fully up to date with legislation and guidelines to ensure their equipment, skills and knowledge are the best so that we can provide you with the best service.
